The City of Amador City is soliciting qualified firms to submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) to provide Project Approval and Environmental Document (PA&ED) support services on the: Amador City – Old Highway 49 Resurfacing, Ped/Bike Crossings and Sidewalk Improvement Project. To Residents and Members of the Amador City Community,

This letter is to inform you that the City Council of Amador City has posted a proposed ordinance, Ordinance #190 Amending Chapter 10 Of The Amador City Municipal Code Related to Vehicles and Traffic, for public review and consideration.

The purpose of this ordinance is to enhance traffic safety, reduce roadway maintenance costs, and preserve the residential and historical character of its main street by prohibiting the use of Main Street by trucks exceeding 10,000 pounds or five (5) tons gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR), consistent with the requirements of the California Vehicle Code (CVC) and the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).

The public comment period for this ordinance is now open. Residents are encouraged to review the proposed ordinance and share feedback.

Public Hearing:
A Public Hearing will be held on 14 July 2026 during the Regular City Council meeting at 6:00 PM at the Old City Hall/Firehouse. This is an opportunity to express views and ask questions directly.
